About Yu Xin
Yu Xin Ballet School was established in 2007 in the bay area by Mr. Yu Xin who has over 30 years of professional experience in the world of ballet. The school is focused on classical ballet training to children 4 years old and up and adults.
Yu Xin was born in Shanghai, China where he received his early training from the age of ten from Beijing Dance Academy. He then joined Shanghai Ballet where he danced major roles in the company for five years. In 1991 he was invited to work in the U.S. and joined the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, Washington. He was a soloist with the company until 1996 when he joined the American Ballet Theater in NYC and stayed for the next six years. He performed in classical ballets such as "Swan Lake", "Don Quixote", "Coppelia", "Cinderella", "Nutcracker", "Romeo and Julie" and Balanchine's "Agon", "Theme and Variations", "Who Cares" and "Rubies".
Yu Xin has performed around the world in places such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, France, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. In 2005 he was invited to be the ballet master and guest teacher for Ballet San Jose School and the Ballet company. He was also invited to teach ballet at Stanford University in 2009.
Yu Xin is also an ABT Certified teacher who has successfully completed the ABT teacher training intensive in primary through level 7 of the American Ballet Theater National Training Curriculum.
